Grandma's Breaded Chicken Pot Pie recipe

Method

  1. Cook (non-tinned) vegetables until tender and set aside.
  2. In a large sauce pan, heat oil; add flour.
  3. Stir constantly for two minutes.
  4. Dissolve stock cube in hot water.
  5. Add with milk to oil and flour mixture.
  6. Add seasonings; cook until thick.
  7. Stir in meat, pre-cooked vegetables and tinned vegetables.
  8. Then, in a 9-inch pie plate, spoon in filling mixture and top with bread, buttered on both sides.
  9. Sprinkle with garlic powder and Parmesan cheese.
  10. Bake at 200 degrees C (Gas Mark 5) for 20-30 minutes until filling is bubbly and crust is golden.
  11. If topping gets too brown, cover with aluminum foil.

Serves 4.
