Keema Matar (Beef With Peas) recipe



  1. Brown the mined beef in a frying pan for 5-6 minutes over a medium heat, then set aside.
  2. An the onion (and a little more oil if needed) and fry until it is lightly browned.
  3. Mix the garlic and the spices together, then add to the onion and fry gently for about one minute.
  4. Add the meat back into the pan along with the tomatoes, peas, water and salt.
  5. Stir well and then simmer covered until meat is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed and flavours merge, about 45 minutes.
  6. Cook rice as per packet instructions and serve with the keema matar.
