Beer Beef Stew recipe

  1. Heat an oven proof casserole dish over high heat.
  2. Add oil and meat; cover and cook for about 10 minutes.
  3. Uncover; boil down accumulated liquid.
  4. Meat will begin to brown, but not splatter.
  5. Brown well, stirring constantly.
  6. Add onions, seasoning and beer.
  7. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 190 degrees C (Gas Mark 5).
  8. Reduce heat and cover.
  9. Bake for 1 hour.
  10. Check during baking time to ensure that meat is covered with liquid (add water if necessary).
  11. Cook mushrooms in a little oil or butter for 3 minutes only.
  12. Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and put in with the meat.

Serve with fries or rice.
