Traditional Greek Lamb In Egg Lemon Sauce recipe

Ingredients

Method

  1. Trim excess fat from meat and cut into stew pieces.
  2. Place in deep saucepan over high heat.
  3. Add butter and seasonings.
  4. Brown meat well until juices are absorbed.
  5. Add shallots
  6. Cover and cook over low heat until soft. Add water.
  7. Continue cooking slowly for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until meat is done.

EGG LEMON SAUCE:

  1. Beat eggs until light and fluffy.
  2. Add lemon juice slowly, beating well.
  3. Gradually add hot stock, beating constantly at low speed.

Serve with Egg Lemon Sauce and rice or naan.
