Lamb & Pear Tagine recipe



  1. In a large saucepan gently fry the onion and peppers in the olive oil until soft add the meat to the pan and cook until it changes color then add the spices.
  2. Add water to just cover the meat and salt to taste.
  3. Cover and simmer gently until the meat is tender about 1 1/2 - 2 hours (removing the lid towards the end of cooking appears to be too much liquid.)
  4. Add the pears to the meat together with the sultanas and almonds and cook for 5 minutes more, or until the pears are soft.
  5. In the meantime, cook the rice as per packet instructions.

Serve with rice.
